IMHO, the main issue isn't really "TouchToPlay", the main issue is that IR remote uses right arrow button to play (even though there is a play button on the remote).
This makes it completely inconsistent if you also have a Boom or Classic in your setup since those still show song details when you hit the right arrow. Touch to play in the touch interface of Squeezebox Touch isn't that bad because it makes it consistent with some other touch based devices, like the music player on iPod Touch/iPhone or iPeng. Unfortunately, Logitech decided that consistent meant that IR interface and touch interface should work exactly the same. When/if I get some time, I'll update Custom Browse to make it consistent with the rest of the interface, probably through a global configuration option. It won't happen in the near future though because I have some other stuff I like to finish first in other applets/plugins.
