>IMHO, the main issue isn't really "TouchToPlay", the main issue is that >IR remote uses right arrow button to play (even though there is a play >button on the remote). It makes little sense on a Touch player (IMO), and no sense on Radio or Classic players because there are dedicated Play and Add buttons (although Add isn't add any more on Radio, not sure what the default is for IR Remote Add button, because I've changed my config anyway).
This basic "play a single track then find something else to play" maybe works for some users. eg. in a household with only a Touch, and not using the IR Remote, and with small libraries. It's the difference between the aging population, used to playing albums or more dynamic playback requirements, and for kids that like to play the same track on repeat for an hour, then play another track. In a household with more devices, basic IR remote functionality inconsistency is annoying. With each new player release comes a slightly different remote with key ordering moved around, certain keys that would seem useful removed, etc. >This makes it completely inconsistent if you also have a Boom or >Classic in your setup since those still show song details when you hit >the right arrow. Hurrah! >When/if I get some time, I'll update Custom Browse to make it >consistent with the rest of the interface, probably through a global >configuration option. Assume you mean Touch interface, and not also IR Remote? Would it make sense to link it with the "Override standard track details" option? i.e. if disabled (use standard track details), this could do touch-to-destroy like the standard Touch interface, whereas if enabled (extended song details chosen), this could work as it does currently? Either way, IR Remote right-arrow should always navigate, not repeat the functionality of the play button. _______________________________________________ plugins mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
