Interesting, though I interpret that iPeng is not used in this scenario in any way and the commands can only be issued trough html requests (i.e. web page). But this proves me wrong on suspecting that SBC couln't be utilized to issue IR remotely, via WLAN in this case. So in theory the proposition of being able to control A/V system remotely with iPod and correctly aligned SBC is not too far fetched :) I very much agree that it would be a very powerful solution to have an app that could be installed to SqueezeServer and which would be able to call and execute the IR commands configured for SqueezeIR. Then I guess SqueezeServer UI (whether accessed through web browser, iPeng, whatever) could issue any command specified in SqueezeIR. Perhpaps in the simplest form this would require replicating the commands that are issued when you physically press SBC buttons... indifference_engine;553378 Wrote: > Another option is here > <http://gizmodo.com/5555746/logitech-replaces-harmony-remotes-with-free-apps-for-google-tv> > but I don't know if it's iPhone compatible. This link I had seen somewhere, maybe there was link somewhere hear earlier. I'm a bit puzzled where the IR-blaster (it says there is one, but I presume it cannot be attached to box itself) is located so that it reaches all A/V equipment. Btw pretty similar approaches are iRule + Global Cache (wlan) ir emitter and RedEye (http://thinkflood.com/products/redeye/what-is-redeye/). But in this case when we have a unit (SBC) that is capable of emitting IR + this wonderful app that can make the IR hw part in the SBC do pretty much anything, it is tempting idea to be able to control this wirelessly, e.g. control the amps volume from patio in the garden with iPod :) -- Nautilus ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Nautilus's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=19856 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=66795 _______________________________________________ plugins mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
