Thanks for the quick reply Gordon, much appreciated. I am using windows 7 ultimate which as you know has quite sophisticated power management systems, I also use JDownloader which has its own shutdown / suspend add on. I reckon it is the interaction between all these systems and the power control plugin that is causing this problem.
The modifications you are working on just now seem perfect for my needs, I will keep a close eye on the thread. In the meantime I will disable the idle monitoring while using the PC.
