It doesn't work with the SBTouch or the SBRadio. It only works with the older IP3K-based players. I should update the little [ i ] help text to reflect this.
Frankly, I don't really know why it doesn't work with SB-based players and I haven't really delved into this. For now, the code that sets up the mapping specifically excludes those types of players. But even before I made that change and those players were getting mapped, sleep+hold didn't work with the Touch or Radio. Since all of the sleep+hold ideas and code came from Peterw and Mavit, perhaps they have a clue as to why. Peter?
