No, I don't use iPeng playback. After experimenting, I see that sometimes when I exit iPeng it triggers a "volume overlay" picture with my general iPad volume setting, and then no volume bug occurs when I open iPeng again. Then, after a while, exiting iPeng does not show the overlay. Then the problem starts anew. Maybe after some more experimentation I will find some correlation here, but mostly I just hope this is fixed in the next release.
In relation to this, a BIG wish to have the numerical volume display when adjusting volume by the physical iPad knobs - I am a classical music listener, and the volume change may not be that obvious until the next loud passage. But I usually know what is the good numerical volume setting for the given album. And speaking of this, the 5 point volume adjustment step is too big for me. I prefer the 2 point step in Squeezebox web interface. Re: losing connection - I use Squeezeserver 7.5.3 .
