No, unfortunately I don't have a solution.

The problem is not limited to iPeng and actually doesn't have anything
to do with the iOS version.
The problem is that Apple has pulled all support for 1st and 2nd
generation devices from their latest development tools and since you now
_have_ to use these for submissions to the App Store you simply can't
support old devices any longer. It's the processor that's no longer
supported.
You wil find that more or less all Apps that still provide updates can
no longer be installed on the device.

I've tried to discuss a potential solution with Apple but that would
only work for existing customers (but then you could still buy a new
version through iTunes. NO, DON'T DO THAT NOW! I don't know what Apple
will respond!) but I haven't got feedback from Apple on it.
