My suggestion is that you get it working on Windows 7 before your
Synology because W7 should definitely work, and the fact that it doesn't
suggests that you're doing something wrong (sorry to sound critical - no
offence intended!). There's a thread specifically on this by Man in a
van ("The New HSL files on windows PC"). It's important that you put a
Windows version of ffmpeg.exe in a location where the plugin can find it
- for me with Windows 7 that is Program Files (x86) / Squeezebox /
server / Bin.
