Are you suggesting a plugin that works for some, or even most, but not all users? Plugin developers have strived very hard to avoid such solutions, and as I understand it there are still issues around ffmpeg that haven't been resolved, and so people would still have to tinker in a way that many find too difficult.
So please be patient. When people have enough spare free time to work on it, and enough platforms to test on, in and out of the UK, more generic plugin solutions may be forthcoming. It is, however, entirely up to those developers when and if they choose to do such work, not up to us low-skilled users. We should just be grateful they do anything at ll. LMS 7.9 on VortexBox Midi, Xubuntu 14.04, FLACs 16->24 bit, 44.1->192kbps. LMS & Squeeze2upnp to MF M1 CLiC (to MF amp & ESLs) & Marantz CR603 UPnP renderers. Minimserver (server) & upplay (control point) to same renderers & to upmpdcli/mpd PC renderers. Squeezelite to Meridian USB Explorer DAC to speakers/phones. Wireless Xubuntu 14.04 laptop with firefox/upplay or Android 'phone with Squeeze-Commander/BubbleUPnP controls LMS/Minimserver.
