I haven't been able to repeat the fault.  The streams have been playing
OK for me.  I think the problem happened because 
(i) running squeezesvr.exe in a command prompt window with logging from
socketwrapper and LMS -
(ii) first run of LMS, faad etc and so Windows has not had everything
cached.
(iii) first time in a while running PE as well.
(iv) also perhaps BBC streams were having a bad day judging by reports.

The log is useful because it should a failure and that it is some sort
of timing issue or named pipe buffer size issue with VMs
