I only tested with sample rates of 44.1kHz thus far. Have you tried using flac? If not, try it as the first codec in the list (there are reviews that say your device should support it, even though not in the formal specs I have seen). It seems pcm capabilities are quite commonly inadequately reported by devices.

Minimserver (server) & upplay (control point) to same renderers & to upmpdcli/mpd PC renderers. Squeezelite to Meridian USB Explorer DAC to speakers/phones. Wireless Xubuntu 14.04 laptop with firefox/upplay or Android 'phone with Squeeze-Commander/BubbleUPnP controls LMS/Minimserver.
