Not sure if anybody else has noticed, but it seems that on Android 6.0 the audio system can now support sampling rates up to 192Khz (you can select them in SB Player), but maybe more importantly it looks the output to a USB DAC has been upgraded to 24/96. Well it may be 16bit, I can't really tell since my DAC can only display a fixed set of sampling rate/bit depth combinations.
