Thanks Phillipe, I'd come to that conclusion and re-instated sq2u, tidied up my various conf files, especially reducing transcoding where it didn't need to be done and my network is performing really well. Seven devices, none of them squeezebox players. Next project is to connect a CCA type device to my restored 1974 Hacker Sovereign transistor radio.
