I think the issue is a port problem. I had previously allocated a port to sq2u (49153). When installing sq2c I left that at ?. The logs of what happens when I then try to use sq2u and get a player crash are attached. Changing the port on sq2c to explicitly use a different port fixes the problem. I have other upnp servers running and previously suspected some interference between them and sq2u, which is why I specifically allocated the port in sq2u. It may be that my M1 CLiC player is not behaving properly with respect to ports (but I don't know for sure).
