The Radio may be getting a better wifi signal than the Boom. Also the
Radio only has to transfer AAC (320kbps at most) whereas the Boom has to
transfer FLAC over wifi at around 750kbps. So the Boom needs the wifi to
work better. Not to mention the Boom is older and may have poorer wifi
hardware (my Receiver's wifi is unusable in a locatiom where other
things work fine).

I strongly recommend trying wired to the Boom. It will either comfirm or
eliminate wifi as causing the problem.
