To make Radio similar to Boom - you can disable AAC native under AAdvamced/Filetype/AAC - that will force all player to trasncode to flac. [I was able to make the issue go away with a previous iPlayer build by changing altering the plugin to have HLS be handled by PlayHLS, which I believe offloads HLS processing to 'ffmpeg'. Haven't tried that approach with this build yet.
