It looks like it is but you can check by looking if pulseaudio is running on your system.
Pulseaudio virtualises audio for each process and on your system this includes faking alsa so the Waveinput instruction for playing through native alsa (i.e. no pulseaudio) won't work. If amarok is using alsa try playing using wavin:pulse rather than wavin:default 2.
