Sorry... me again! I'm pretty sure that this issue is more to do with
LMS than your plug-in, but wondering if anybody else has the answer.
I've spent the last few hours trawling through the forum and trying
various suggestions.

The good news: I can get my Sonos to play using this plug-in for both 16
bit and 24 bit FLAC files, so long as they are 44.1K. However I'm really
struggling to get 96K / 192K files downsampled to 44.1K.

Note that I'm trying to avoid using LAME/MP3 transcoding so I'm hacking
around with custom-convert.conf without actually understanding any of
it! What I've done so far:
Created a custom-convert.conf file in C:\Program Files
(x86)\Squeezebox\server containing the following:

Code:
--------------------
    flc flc transcode *
        # FT:{START=--skip=%t}U:{END=--until=%v}D:{RESAMPLE=-r %d}
        [flac] -dcs $START$ $END$ -- $FILE$ | [sox] -q -t wav - -t flac -C 0
$RESAMPLE$ -

--------------------

I nicked this from another post on this forum. From what little I
understand, this uses sox to resample any flac files down to the maximum
sample rate (in this case 48k if it's using the settings in the
uPnPBridge plug-in?)

I can successfully play a 16 bit 44.1K FLAC file and a 24 bit 44.1K FLAC
file.

Example log:

Code:
--------------------
    [22:04:26.156] sq_callback:312 [0048504C]: codec:p, ch:2, s:16, r:44100
  [22:04:26.234] sq_get_metadata:560 [004BB99C]: idx 0
        artist:Foo Fighters
album:There Is Nothing Left To Lose
        title:Stacked Actors
        genre:Alternative
        duration:256.466
        size:0
        cover:http://192.168.1.10:9000/music/fb1df65d/cover.jpg

--------------------

So far, so good. Even a 24 bit file plays okay if it's only 44.1K.

Then I try a 192K file:

Code:
--------------------
    [22:02:11.187] AVTStop:218 uPNP stop for
http://192.168.1.200:1400/MediaRenderer/AVTransport/Control (cookie 00000001)
  [22:02:11.219] sq_callback:312 [0048504C]: codec:f, ch:255, s:255, r:255
  [22:02:11.312] sq_get_metadata:560 [004BB99C]: idx 0
        artist:A Silver Mt. Zion
        album:Hang On To Each Other
        title:Any *bleep* Thing You Love
        genre:Alternative
        duration:679.120
        size:0
        cover:http://192.168.1.10:9000/music/0ea2fa01/cover.jpg

--------------------

Sonos then throws a fit with a 'the file is in an unsupported format'
error. I assume this is something to do with those ch:255 s:255 r:255
entries?

Alternatively is there a better way such as amending custom-convert.conf
to transcode/downsample via PCM instead of FLAC, then I'll just remove
flc from the uPnPBridge config for my Sonos? If so, does anybody have
the correct convert.conf code to do this? I can see in convert.conf that
FLAC -> PCM is currently using flac.exe... a quick check on the internet
tells me that flac.exe can't resample so I guess I'd need to change this
to use sox instead?

Or feel free to tell me I'm being utterly incompetent and I should just
install LAME to downsample using MP3 instead!

Thanks
Pete
