Lani pursed her lips and bit back the retort that instantly came to her
mind. Instead she merely nodded in understanding. "Very well." was all she
said. Lani wondered what Mireon had told Derek Rayne of her. Not even Hiro or
Kai knew of her involvement with Kimeko or her other friends, she had made
sure to keep them from that knowledge. Lani adjusted the duffle bag on her
shoulder and sighed. It was late, and she hadn't slept for two days. Surely
they could continue her lecture tomorrow, she thought. Lani yawned tiredly.
