"Well, kiddo.. I better go check with the boss and find out what's going
on." Julia said by way of apology and set the tray on the bedside for her to
reach easy "If it's not too late I'll come by later to make sure
everything's cool. Sleep tight, okay?"
"okay," Kat responded. "Good night." She finished the cookie she was
eating and had another finishing off her milk and putting the glass on the
tray. Then she lay backdown and closed her eyes feeling warm and
comfortable. He hand strayed to the crucifix around her neck and she fell
asleep holding tightly to it.
With that she winked and went to the door, grinning back "I think I just
found my midnight snack partner. Talk to you later."
She opened the door and closed it quietly behind her, hoping Kat was able to
get some kind of rest after everything that's happened tonight. Then she
turned and headed toward the Control Room, entering with Derek giving Philip
and saying "See what you can do about blessing this."
"What's going on?" she asked, looking at Ria and the others curiously.
Derek had been wondering where she'd gotten off to. "Julia, you're just in
time." He handed her the book pointing to the passage he had been studying
closely for the last hour. He didn't have anything against Lani, but she
was new and he wasn't sure how she'd handle a situation like this. Though
she was making great progress with the analysis of the pages. When it came
down to it, he wanted someone he knew he could trust to handle the most
delicate part of this operation. Normally his first choice would have been
Alex, but under the circumstances Julia seemed the better candidate. "Do
you think you could handle that if you had to?"
