I let out a long breath of relief, there it was all out in the open. "I'm
sorry we didn't say anything sooner, but we didn't want to make things
awkward if it didn't work out," I said slightly sheepishly.

Talk about bolt from the blue! I looked over at Derek, wondering what he was
thinking about all this. "I didn't realise," I replied not exactly sure how
they expected us to respond to the news. I couldn't help but look at them
through proffessional eyes, I'd never met two people more different...Alex
quiet and conservative, not to mention responsible and thoughtful...and
Nick. I suppose it was true that opposites attract. They did both share the
same deeply rooted sense of loyalty, maybe it would work.
