I could tell he wasn't thrilled, though I'd had no expectation that he would
be. "We've not gone into this lightly Derek," I said softly. "We both
understood the ramifications if it didn't work...and the pressure to make it
work. That's part of the reason we wanted to be sure before telling anyone."
I gave my mentor a sheepish smile, "it's something that's been building for
a long time, but when Rose died..." I looked down at the floor, "he was
there."
