Derek's jaw tightened, he didn't like any this. He gave Julia a stern look,
it was time for her to disconnect from the other spirit, even if the talk
was not truly over. He wouldn't have her destroying herself for a
conversation that was going no where.
"Julia," he said firmly, "let go." He hadn't been pleased with Kat's answer
to Patrick's question at all and at
the moment all he could do was hope that Rachel wasn't either. He was going
to take his cues from her.

Julia met Kat's gaze and gasped as Patrick let go of her hand and ended the
link, a tear falling silently.
"You can't go back, Kat." she whispered, now literally gasping and sitting
back as the effects of over extending herself finally hit and seemed to
cramp different muscles all at the same time. She squeezed her eyes tight
as she rode out the first wave and then opened them back up and looked at
Derek with unspoken frustration. She had to make Kat see the danger in
trying it again. Her knuckles were white as she gripped the arm rests and
fought to keep the full effects from showing in front of the others as she
turned to the little girl and then to Rachel.
It wasn't her place to chastise, discipline or even point out the real
unedited version of what could truly happen to Kat if she continued to play
with something she had no right to.
"You have to rest." Patrick was there beside her, expression filled with
concern for both his family and Julia's positions. "Especially if she does
ignore us and tries again. We at least got her to promise not to take the
cross off."
Julia nodded quietly and felt her body starting to relax in weariness "I'll
stay here..... sleep in my room."
"I'll stay with Rachel and Kat." Patrick said as he stood to take up a
silent vigil "I'll let you know..."
Julia looked over at Derek and started to stand, silently asking him to help
her but not let on anything to worry the others as she looked at the
Corrigans "Patrick said he'll stay with you. I'll... I'll be here and will
come back later....."
