Derek was by her side immediately, instead of just supporting her however,
he lifted her up and carried her out of the room. Normally, he was pretty
sure Julia wouldn't have allowed such a thing, but she was in no condition
to protest or to walk that far. He gave Rachel a meaningful glance as he
passed. She had to do something, if she didn't he would. As far as he was
concerned and a simple, "you will NOT do this again because I SAID so."
would have been good enough.

NM:
"Derek.." Julia managed to whisper before her head fell against his shoulder
limply and she fell into a deep sleep. Although it hadn't crossed her mind
at the moment - not surprising in the shape she was in considering the
amount of energy she had expended not only now but since she had returned -
Julia missed the small fact that, unlike other times when she had been in
need of regeneration, she didn't return to the realm this time but stayed in
physical form.

She did, however, feel the chill that came with the loss of energy and
instinctively moved toward the body heat she felt, frowning as her
subconscious remembered Kat's hesitancy in not wanting to promise her father
not to go back to the other realm. Remembered it enough to make a sound of
distress, albeit low from lack of being able to make it any louder, deep in
her throat and stir a little even as her body fell into an even deeper,
hopefully healing sleep.

Patrick watched the two before turning to his family, most especially Kat,
studying her features and knowing that Kat had deliberately answered
vaguely. His hazel gaze took in every inch of her - his little girl growing
up without his physical presence...... and frowned a little at the jewelry
she was wearing.

Had Rachel bought her that bracelets, he wondered, knowing where the other
items she wore came from. Then he shook his head and focused more on the
problem at hand.

Keeping their daughter safe.
