"Really? I'm afraid I wouldn't know."
Sam was a little stunned, a confirmed bachelor at his age? Wow, that was
unusual.
NM:
Julia swatted Derek's leg under the desk so that it wouldn't be seen. If he
wasn't careful he'd be having that lone luncheon. She lowered her hand from
the sore spot on her head and brought both of her hands up and started
typing into the first laptop, her fingers flying over the keys as she
bypassed the encryption and passcodes.
Then she looked at Sam and smiled politely "Lunch is about to be served if
you'd take a seat at the table over there and give us enough time to clean
out these hard drives before joining you."
As if on cue Jonathon walked in and pushed a small cart over to the table
that sat in front of one of the book cases, drawing Claire's and Brady's
attention to it as well. He set out the food on the table and, having
guessed that Miss Julia and Mr. Rayne would be the ones working on the
computers he brought over two covered plates and two glasses of tea.
"I see you've seen your room already, Miss Julia." Jonathon commented as he
set the things down at the corner of the desk "Is all in order?"
He had been up to deliver an extra set of towels and seen the package on the
bed.
"It's great, Jonathon, thanks." Julia grinned as she typed, nodding thanks
for the drink and food and planning on bringing them over to the table when
they were done with the computers so as not to be rude to the guests.
Jonathon noticed the already empty coffee mug "Would you like some more
coffee?"
She could use a caffiene jolt about then but remembered her kind-of promise
to Derek about a nap so shook her head "No thanks... but I'll probably sneak
one later."
"Special brew is in its usual place." he informed her with a smile before
turning to Mister Rayne "Is there anything else I can do? The two lunches
are out on the patio as well."
