Sam:
Samantha couldn't believe the woman's nerve. She was an excellent teacher
and she kenw it, what right did Julia Walker have to make judgements about
her career, when she'd never seen her doing it? None. Samantha was well
known for her considerable temper, the temper redheads are notorious for,
but somehow many don't really seem to have. It was those few like Sam who
had given the whole group such a reputation. She stepped alightly away from
Julia, and bent down to speak with Kat, "do you think you can carry this
over to Claire," she asked the girl.

Kat:
Kat looked up from the remains of her lunch. "Sure," she said, always
loving to help out especially with important things.

Sam:
Sam waited for the girl to stand and then put the computer in her arms. "Be
reely careful okay."

Kat:
"I will," Kat promised and carried the other laptop over to Claire. After
it was safely transferred, she stayed and watched the woman go through it.

Sam:
After Kat had moved and still in a tone only Julia could hear, Sam responded
to her. "Well then, I don't suppose what I do is really any of your concern
then is it?" She wasn't about to defend her credentials or ability as a
teach to this woman, that remark wasn't even worthy of a response as far as
she was concerned. "Dr. Rayne is a big boy, I'm certain he can managed to
take care of himself quite adequately." She wasn't about to let the other
woman intimidate her. In fact, the people who could do that were very few
and far between.

Derek:
Derek watched the pair on the sofa closely as they checked the machines. He
listened with interest to Julia's speech. Not bad, he thought. When she
asked if he had anything to say, he was silent for a moment, before looking
at them very seriously. "If you do this again you will not need to worry
about Julia," he told them. "You will be dealing with me if that happens."
As soft spoke as he was, it was clear from his tone that this was not
something they would want to do. "If I were you I consider myself lucky
that she intervened this time."

Kat:
Kat who had heard that one in Derek's voice before was about ready to leave
and go do something else. She hated it when he got upset like that, it was
just a little spooky, but he seemed okay right this minute.
