"Oh, I know that, they weren't real stars they were.....special ones and
they sort of melted and fell down.....I know you don't tell lies," she
added. "I believe you about Derek and everything, honest." She just
didn't, no couldn't believe it was Miranda's fault. Kat looked down at the
chain as it hung over her hand. "Are you sure I can still keep it?" She
loved the necklace and didn't want to lose it. "I love you too," she added
softly, "I want you to trust me. I'll be good, you'll see."
Julia smiled softly and stroked Kat's bangs "Yes, I'm sure. And we'll work
it out. Hey, I have an idea."
"It's a little late considering you have school tomorrow and calling out for
pizza would take too long but how about I ask Derek about having an early
dinner tomorrow after school tomorrow? You get pizza and we'll chow down on
spaghetti and meatballs or something?"
Julia grinned a little "We get to take the UV for it's first test drive in
the morning when I take you to school. Darn thing has a television and
entertainment center in it."
She gave Kat a gentle hug, letting her decide if she wanted to make it a
full fledged one "But for now I'm afraid you're stuck with making a monster
sandwich and then take your bath and all that dull the night before school
day things. I'm going to go check on your mom and see if she's able to have
visitors tonight. If not I'll find out when she can and take you then,
okay? Think you can handle doing the before bed stuff while I do that?"
