Derek didn't have to be asked twice. He reaimed the gun and sent a fireball
straight at the creature he knew to be Marcus. The girl was dead already,
there was no saving her and he knew it by now. He aimed again this time at
the artifact. The force of the blast shattered it and the flames engulfed
some of the more fragile pieces. Leaving in no longer in tact. If Marcus
wanted to return again, he'd have to find some other way to do it. He then
lowered the weapon slight and started towards the tunnel waiting of the
other to come too and motioning them in ahead of him, so he could watch
their backs.
Not-Claire/Marcus howled in outrage, the sound itself sending what vampires
that were still there both scrambling to get away as he was turned into a
fiery tower of death and to try and strike out at the ones that had hurt
their clan member.
One such vampire caught Derek in a vicious swipe, long nails catching him in
his left arm before moving ahead to try and grab the two men that had
escaped before him.

The House....
She hadn't even realized she had dozed off but one minute she was sitting on
the couch, almost huddled, and the next she was waking up with a start and
looking around, Derek's name on her lips.
Something had happened.
She stood up, the blanket half on her shoulders and half off, as she left
the office and started toward and down the stairs. Jonathan met her before
she could start down to the first floor to bring her up to date, his gaze
concerned at her state but knowing she needed to know.
"Sloan and Mrs. Rayne are here and I just got a call from the hospital.
Father Philip Callahan has been checked in but is doing all right. Ms Adams
is with him and will most likely be there for a while with giving statements
and waiting for Philip to be checked out.
Great... just great.
"Okay, well go ahead and send someone to go pick them up. Wait for however
long they need to until Philip's checked out, and then have them brought
back here," Julia instructed, drawing the blanket closer about her as she
mentally groaned at the mention of the two arrivals. Of all the days for
this to happen...
"You need to take your vitamin too." Jonathan reminded her gently.
Julia looked at him, voice quiet and eyes troubled "I need Derek back home
and safe."
Sloan had heard voices and excused himself to go see who it was, only to
look up at the stairwell and see none other than someone that looked exactly
like Julia Walker.
And she was giving instructions about Legacy members to Jonathan. He
couldn't hide the grimace from his expression.
It was just then that Julia looked downstairs, knowing it would be best if
she took the vitamin instead of skipping it. She saw the expression and
mentally clenched her teeth together as Jonathan walked with her. She still
had the uneasy feeling something had happened and had to keep from looking
at the door much less charge through it and go back to the cemetery.
Come on Derek, she thought, come home. Please come home.
"Julia." Sloan spoke her name once she reached the first floor, eyes taking
her in and an eyebrow raising as he took in the blanket about her shoulders
"Not feeling well?"
She looked at Jonathan and gave him a nod to get him started on taking care
of Kristen and Philip. Then she turned to greet Sloan "William. I kind of
figured you'd be popping your mug around here soon. Nice to know you don't
disappoint."
She turned toward the kitchen and then in, Sloan following with a wry but
distant chuckle. Julia went to the frig, got some milk and a vitamin and
then took it, taking care not to give Sloan a clear view of what it was
before she tucked it back in and closed the door and turn back toward him,
milk in hand and blanket around shoulders and gaze determined.
