Derek returned her kiss. "You're right it is an odd situation and I'm
sorry, I wish I could make it better." He gave her a hug then.
"I'll try, but Sloan does not make these things easy. Perhaps, I'll speak
with my mother about us first and see how long Kristen can entertain him."
Julia chuckled at that and pointed out "I think what is eating him up is
that no one's listening to him while he's issuing orders so he's getting his
feathers in a ruffle."
She parted from the hug and stroked his cheek, careful of the scrapes there
"I say let him sit for a while, he needs some humbling. And the situation..
could have been worse, hon. Give her time, I'm sure it'll work out."
She lowered her hand then and gave him a half smile "You might want to hide
the prenatal vitamins until you talk with her though, especially with Philip
digging around in the refrigerator."
"Be back soon." she said, starting to turn to leave, not really wanting to
leave him but knowing she might be able to help Megan.
