"He is contrary by nature," Derek told her.  "That's what's wrong with him.
He wouldn't be happy if Moses were here helping to run things.  I suppose I
should go speak with him."  He didn't want to though.  "Was he in the same
mood on the entire trip?"

"Heaven's no, I wouldn't allow it." Barbara said, right before something
broke in the hallway.

"Or perhaps it had caught up with him?" she asked, not really meaning it but
the sound of breaking anything wasn't a usual occurrence.  She watched Julia
and Jonathan leave and wondered if they should follow or let them handle it.
After all, too many helping hands tended to make things more difficult.
