"All right," Derek agreed as he watched her leave.  He then went back to the
kitchen and sat down at the table.  "Mother, would you mind finishing your
tea in the downstairs library.  I need to speak with you alone."

"Of course not." Barbara agreed, picking up her cup while waving Jonathan
off.  When they reached the library she sat in one of her favorite high
backed chairs and even sighed a little in comfort before looking at her son
"What is it, Derek? You look so serious but.. different."
