He blushed furiously as he took the slowly took the bottle from her, hoping
she didn't take it as a rude gesture.
"I, um" he said, the last word trailing as he tried to find any other
explaination than the obvious and without lying.
He couldn't.
He scratched his head sheepishly and felt his cheeks warm.
She tilted her heard to the side as she looked at the blush rising in
Philip's cheeks. "I don't think I've ever seen you blush, Philip." Looking
at the bottle in his hand, "Well, I'm guessing THAT's the surprise you
couldn't reveal."
Unfortunately, discovering the 'surprise' just brought a million more
questions to Kristin's mind.
"I'm just not sure I understand," she said, looking confused. "I don't
want to sound improper, but isn't Julia supposed to..well, not 'be here'
anymore?" she shied away from using the word 'dead'. It was obvious that
she was a good friend of Philip's and Kristin didn't want to sound
unfeeling. And what about Nick? And Alex-did she know?
