Derek was furious. There was no other word to describe it. He managed to
give his mother a grateful look before standing and releasing her hand.
"Fine," he said his voice dangerous.
"You know it's odd how you consider Philip to be a member of the Legacy when
ever it's convenient for you to do so," he added. He squeezed Julia's
shoulder firmly before stalking out of the room and going to his office. He
was certain Sloan would follow.
"It's flat out amazing how you've ignored every rule in the book with Julia
and expect things to go smoothly with the Council because of it." Sloan
countered as they reached the office and entered "Are you deliberately
trying to make sure she's ostracized and you lose your position??"
