Derek spun around and glared at the other precept with fire in his eyes.

"That has go to be one of the most asinine things you ever said to me," his
voice a barely controlled roar. "This is my house, I asked Julia to help
out with a few things. She's has stopped entering the control room and her
work has been confined to Luna Foundation business, with the exception of
some security measures she setup. And my personal relationship with her is
completely off limits to you and the Council."

Sloan looked at him, his voice more than controlled as he faced Derek "Want
to bet? Cross himself is going to go to town on her. Tell me Derek, did she
do it on her own violation or did you have her stop going to the Control
Room?"

"She came back from the DEAD, Derek. You and I both know that it's as close
to having a stamp on her forehead that she would be considered an agent from
hell. You didn't even bother to tell me what happened and I'm trying to be
on your side in this! And you want me to act like the Council or Cross
isn't going to be up in arms when they find out you're going to marry her
without even having solid proof that she's legitimate?"
