Derek flushed, more out of anger than embarrassment.

"She has her own room," he objected.  "She asked me to move her shortly
after she returned."

This was the truth and though some of her things were in Derek's room and
that was where she stayed, some of her belongs still remained in the room
across the hall.  And damn it, where she slept was really none of the
council's business.  They wouldn't be staying at his house anyway, he
wouldn't have it.

Sloan looked at him for a long moment.

"I think you need to go find Julia and talk to her.  And then both of you
come back here.  Tell her what we've talked about."

Sloan had some thinking to do "And for once, don't argue.  Just do it."

The older man then turned his gaze to the window, deep in thought.
