Amber sighed heavily. "Well, she just hasn't been
Jane lately, I guess." She had almost wished the
subject would just disappear. Something about it
bothered her more than she wanted to admit. "It
started maybe three weeks ago, but it was gradual. I
first noticed it when she forgot about a fund-raiser
she was supposed to attend. But you know, that kind
of thing happens, so none of us thought much on it at
first. But it just got progressively worst. She
began forgetting the simplest tasks, for example,
calling Derek about my arrival. It's not just
forgetting things, either. She acts differently when
dealing with people. Jane's always been a bit cut and
dry when it comes to her house and running it, you
know that as well as I do. But now, she just seems
brutal. She'll snap at people for no apparent reason,
and tear any thread of emotions they have appart."
Amber looked down, blinking back tears, thinking of
her own confrontation with Jane, then looked back up
at Kristin. "Everyone there just pretty much tries to
avoid her, and hopes that she doesn't track them down.
I don't know, it may just be personal issues that are
bothering her, or something."
