"You are nothing if not persistent," he said to Ellison. "What is it this
time?"
Julia touched Derek's arm, speaking quietly before Ellison could answer "He
wants to know what happened to Claire."
Then she turned to the detective again, making herself face the flash of
hurt in his eyes as she answered "They separated us so none of us knew who
was there... or where. They had me locked up in a room and when I got out I
found Sam and Reese."
Jim kept the majority of his reaction at bay. He could tell that Julia was
telling the truth and that whoever did this to his niece had been a sick
enough bastard. But had to know...
"The person... that.." he couldn't finish that part of the sentence. The
'killed my niece. So he left it unsaid, knowing the other two knew what he
meant and then continued "Tell me what happened to him. Where is he?"
Julia looked at Derek.
