"I'll try," Derek told her, but the fact was they behaved recklessly
sometimes. "I can't imagine Jane doing something like that either and hope
she didn't do it on her own, but there is always a possibility that I do not
know her as well as I thought I did." That was something he did not really
want to accept, but he knew from past experience it was a hard reality he
just might have to live with.
