I've tested this script with 4.5.0.0 and 4.5.0.4. No noticable difference.
However, I've done a few *very quick* tests. UltraISO and ISOBuster are
2 disk-intensive programs both of which open progress dialogs in
addition to the main app window, and both the main app and progress
dialog are shown on the active tasks. v4.3.1.0 and v4.5.0.0 both seem to
be running fine if I rapidly switch vdesks and minimize/restore various
applications and start even more others, whereas v4.5.0.3 & v4.5.0.4
start to hang. The new "wait for caption/icon for xxx msecs" setting in
v4.5.0.4 (I've tested it with 50 and 250) makes the bar not hang
anymore, but then the active tasks bar spends its time trying to extract
icons a lot more often, showing blank titles with "unresponive" tooltip
almost all the time.
I've discovered something else peculiar trying to follow Alan's idea.
Starting with v4.5.0.3, if I start 3 non-small programs (UEdit11, Nero6,
PSP8) with *rapid* clicks on 3 buttons next to each other and move the
mouse very fast on the another 4th one far right (my winamp play-pause
button, at least 200px away), the 3rd mouse click is sent to the 4th one
and winamp toggles (PSP8 should have started)! I.e. PP can't keep up
with the mouse clicks. This does not happen on v4.5.0.0.
I've conducted my tests with the versions from my backups, and I don't
have v4.5.0.2, so I can't verify Alan's suspicion, but it's definitely
somewhere btw 4.5.0.0 and 4.5.0.3.
