So far, so good. I am running with no pcmcia modules loaded. I reloaded the
laptop_mode service because apparently the hard drive is somewhat noisy without
it (or may be just my feeling). It has been about 13 hrs. As I said, the
problem usually appears when I do something heavy. I have played an hour of
quake4 and run several hours of vmware. No problem yet. Still quite some time
to go ;).
PS : Does laptop_mode really help disk life and battery life?
