Hi!
I recently obtained some PB Duos to give as gifts. They all have 16 Mbs
of RAM and an internal modem.
However, the modems do not have the familiar RJ, american kind of
socket, but a regular 8-pin serial DIN socket. Just like the
printer/modem port.
TattleTech reports a printer/modem port and an internal modem port. The
Internal Modem has a Connection Type: Serial, with Input Driver Name:
.CTBIn, and an Output Driver Name: .CTBOut. The Modem Control Panel
reports an Internal Modem. I suppose it is an Internal Express Modem.
With the lot I got an adapter that has an 8-pin male connector on one
side and at the end of a short cable, a small box with an RJ socket on
it. Lettering on a side says: "AUSTEL PERMIT NO: A93/25F/0278 MODEL:
ALL1EXPRESS R.E.N.=0.6"
Then with smaller letters: BANKSIA TECHNOLOGY PTY LIMITED
Of course, nothing happens when I connect it, and the TeleComm Software
does not recognize the modem as an Express, but it does recognize it as
a serial modem.
Can anyone help me? I want to give this as gifts, but with functioning
internal faxes, not modems.
Where can I get the adapters and/or software to turn this features on?
TIA for your help.
Saludos desde Reynosa, Tamaulipas, Mexico!
Best regards.
