No, he is in fact talking about a modem port. It sounds like he has an
Australian (and/or European) version which utilizes an external dongle to
provide a phone connection. This dongle plugs into the 8 pin port (both of
which he describes very clearly). It won't work with North American phone
systems though, I think due to differences in line voltage. I recall this
discussion occurring on the Duo/2400 list several months back. I'll search
the archives there to see if I can find more details.

Hugo, your best bet is to locate the standard 14.4 Duo modem with RJ11 jack
and install it. That or use and external modem which will allow you to use
something with a faster connection speed (28.8 up to 56k). Of course you'll
have to connect it to the printer/modem port as it will not work in the
other.
