Try a different phone cord, one that you know works. Zterm can be a little funny to config, I find it counterintuitive. I'd try more baud rates though, to start- data rate of 1200 is pretty low, your DTE might be set higher...hmmm but then you would not get an "ok" back... never mind... Try quitting Zterm, and letting OT/PPP dial- in the PPP settings, check the "use terminal window" box and when you try and dial out (not to a BBS, but pretending you're calling an ISP), just type ATdt and a phone # in the box. I don't suppose you are in Australia or other international are you? The dial tone is different in some locations outside the US, and US modems sometimes don't "hear" the dial tone.
