Thanks Malcolm...but it still does the same thing.
When it starts (or tries to), I hear the HD hunt
around a little, just like normal, and then I get the
"?"

One odd thing that it did...after turning it off, I
unplugged the power adapter and plugged it back in. It
made a series of tones something like four going
upscale followed by four going downscale. Could have
been three, but I think it was four.
