IIRC the Airport drivers will install only on G3 processor powerbooks.
Though you may be able to extract them from the installer using Tome Viewer
and then drag-drop them manually to the Extensions folder. Anyone done this?

If it works, at that point it's a question of which software you find easier
to set up: airport or the orinoco sw. Both have fairly detailed
explanations/guides on how to configure the sw, so you might want to try
both.
