Hi,

Try the old PMU reset:
unplug the AC cable, remove the battery, hold reset
for 10-20 sec., repeat a few times, reinsert
battery, boot using reset.
Failing which, open up the 'Book to disconnect the
PRAM battery.

My 3400 is still working after a harrowing experience
when it wouldn't boot internally (neither HDD nor CD).
It took me two months to get it working. (There were
some weird drivers and other stuff on the HDD.) If you
have the original install disks (floppies or CD), use
those to 'clean the deck' if nec. To back up SW, boot
externally first using SCSI.

I think if you didn't disconnect the internal PRAM
battery, it may have caused this problem.

Best
George
