It wouldn't surprise me. The Kanga uses the same motherboard running at 50
MHz, and the 603ev-240 doesn't get particularly hot (at least for me) unless
you have the PowerBook sitting flat on the carpet or something.

There's a graphic on macspeedzone.com that shows a 3400 at 303 MHz running
at 25 percent better than at 240. I've thought about trying it, but never
had the nerve to risk it.

What I wish is that you could somehow desolder the 603 and put a G4 there
instead. But that's dreaming...sigh.

I had no idea such a thing existed for the 3400. Now if only there were an
internal CDRW that could go in there.
