First when you get the power book use it for a day or so to see if you like it before deciding to change anything. Remember opinions vary what is not good for one is perfect for another.!! Once you have gotten use to the book and like it (which I am sure you will) Max out the ram and hdd! Also if you get chance change the cpu with the 540 cpu as it is faster. If you want to use it to collect email and need a pcmcia cage for the modem I would suggest keeping the 040 cpu, and not thinking about the power pc upgrade because then you would need to find a rev C cage and they are like ROCKING HORSE SXXX AND IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND. There is a guy on list who has lots of 5XX apps on his web site for battery reconditioning and the likes, or you could mail me off list and I will send some , also if you need the modem drivers for either the geoport or express modem (which ever it has in ) let me know and I can send them also. But the only thing to really remember is HAVE FUN WITH IT!! Vicki -- PowerBooks is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
