Does anyone else here think laptops are on the way out, except for professional graphics users, and will basically be replaced by palms, or pocket pc's? God Bless! Junior
I doubt it. In fact, I think desktops are more likely to be gone except for professional users within ten or twenty years. There might be some especially large "luggable" laptops for those who need less portability than power, but I think laptop sales will eventually overtake desktop sales until desktops are only used by scientists, graphics professionals, hardcore gamers, and possibly those people who want a really cheap (<$500) system (either home-built or purchased). Right now, about the cheapest laptops you can find are around $700-$800 new, but I think that'll come down to $500 within a few years and then laptops will truly be able to replace desktops.
