I had considered that. In fact, I think that is the best way to go, since I 
have it in my mind that GLOD is most often caused by "warm" swapping. So just 
to be safe, I always swap modules while the 'book is off.

I went to the page, and tried the procedure explained. Of my two 1400 CD-rom 
drives, I got one to work; I am still working on the other one..
